After her return, on 1 March 2014, Ms. Ge was arrested at her home in Beijing by agents of the Fengtai District Public Security Bureau, detained at Fengtai District Detention Centre and allegedly subjected to ill-treatment and torture, which led to her being hospitalized on two occasions. Although she had been charged with, inter alia, creating a disturbance, the interrogations in detention reportedly focused on Ms. Ge’s visit to Ms. Cao in hospital and her participation in the training course.
