Members of the International Federation of Human Rights, Mr. Alexis Deswaef and Ms. Victoire d’Humières, were denied entry and expelled from the country, respectively, in connection with an individual complaint that the Federation had filed in 2017 before the United Nations Human Rights Committee.42 64. Egypt Special procedure mandate holders addressed allegations of undue restrictions to and intimidation and surveillance of civil society actors and Indigenous Peoples’ representatives participating in the twenty-seventh session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change and raised concerns about allegations of intimidation and reprisals in connection with the session. 43 During the session, mandate holders also publicly noted multiple reports and corroborated evidence of civil society actors being interrogated by Egyptian security officers and monitored and photographed without their consent inside the venue.44 65. 66.
