Government responded, stressing that competent authorities do not charge, arrest, imprison or take reprisal measures against anyone for working with the United Nations. It is the view of the Government that any allegations of intimidation or acts of reprisal against individuals or their families because of their human rights work are untrue and false; and anyone making such allegations is merely trying to cover up the fact that legal proceedings against them or any of their relatives are owing to violations and acts prohibited or criminalized by national law.
